School at Mysore for SSES
This school at Mysore for the Sri Siddhartha education society broadens the diversity at the city of Mysore. This school presents itself as an open transparent and welcoming addition to the fast Urbanization of the traditional city of Mysore. The location of the site is strategic, right at the mount of the entry into the city, flanked by large residential arterial roads on all four sides. The site is about 2.25 Acres and assumes a strong urban identity.
The concept behind the design is in the design of the schools as many small school aligning along a definite axis that links the four directions of the site. The strategic planning and adapting of the interstitial spaces are what define the urban and transparent character of the academy. The communal spaces between school encourage communication, play , social interaction, theatre, food and recreation.
The school is about 1.5lakh square feet with a 600 capacity auditorium, 18000 sq.ft playgrounds and an all equipped multipurpose hall. The design is defined by large windows, ample ventilation, communal spaces, understated but durable textures and uniqueness in form that defines the aesthetics of the facade.
